WORLD CHAMPION ENDURANCE RIDER, BECKY HART, JOINS THE APF PRO TEAM!

We are proud to be associated with Becky Hart, an endurance rider who has excelled in the demanding sport for years by being smart, sane, and savvy. Endurance is a sport that requires as much knowledge of science as it does of athletics. And certainly no one succeeds at this sport without incredible dedication and commitment.

Becky Hart stands as an leading example of all that this unique sport demands of its top competitors. Here is an excerpt from her blog about her career:

Becky and Rio

After 30 years in the sport, I am still never happier than starting a ride on a good horse. Tonight I share my enthusiasm by revisiting some World Championships in the hopes that you too will see what is possible and that you continue to enjoy this sport to its utmost.

Although I have competed on over 34 different horses, the very best of them was R.O. Grand Sultan, aka “Rio”. Without Rio, I would not be standing here before you. This talk, in a way, is a tribute to him. The first video in the background is of the endurance race at the World Equestrian Games in Sweden, 1990. The second is the WC in Spain in 1992 – the last 30 minutes.You will see when Rio crosses the finish line, his attitude and character. When the horse loves the sport as much as the rider, they give each other the determination and courage to go on.

We spoke with Becky at the recent American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC) Convention in Reno, NV and learned she is bringing along a very talented youngster with her eye on the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France. We wanted to be a part of her journey with her new young horse.

Dr. Mike will be representing Auburn Laboratories, Inc. at the AERC Convention in Reno, Nevada tomorrow and Saturday, March 8th and 9th at the Grand Sierra Resort.

In 1994 and 1998 Ms. Kanavy was the World Endurance Champion, and in 2003 was the World Champion Master. In 2010 she was named the AERC National Champion and Winner of the Best Conditioned Award. She competed at the 2011 Pan Am Games, helping our team take home the Silver Medal and bringing home an Individual Bronze Medal.
