|The Biltmore Estate|
The first of the three races is the Biltmore Challenge Endurance Ride. It will be held May 2-3, 2014 at the magnificent Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.
Next is the Old Dominion in lovely Virginia. The Old Domion was started in 1973 by Alex Bigler. Alex Bigler was an endurance rider who had moved to Virginia from California and wanted to create a 100 mile ride to expand the sport to the East Coast. The original ride was located in Loudon County, but in 1980 it was moved to its current location in the Shenandoah Valley. This year the ride will be held June 14, 2014.
The last ride is the grandaddy of them all. The Western States One Hundred, or more commonly referred to as The Tevis Cup, is located just down the road from us in Auburn, California. The Tevis Cup is America's oldest 100 mile endurance ride. Starting in the mountainous forests of the Tahoe area and ending at the fairgrounds in Auburn, CA, it is a ride of testing and challenge for both horse and rider as they traverse rugged trails. Summiting Cougar Rock is one of the most difficult segments of any of the rides in the world. The ride will be held August 9, 2014.
We are delighted to be associated with these extraordinary athletes -- horses AND riders! Providing nutritional protection for the world's top equine athletes in ultimate tests such as these endurance rides is what we're all about.
Good luck to everyone for a safe and rewarding season!
